One Pill Can Kill

With 295 overdose deaths per day, drugs have ravaged our communities and Ohio is at the center of it all. The Elks National Drug Awareness Program is the largest volunteer drug awareness program in the US. We believe, in order to ensure a bright future for our country, it is essential that our children be raised in a drug free environment.

Prescription and illegal street drugs are killing Ohioans at historic rates.  Elks lodges across Ohio are working with local schools and police departments with information, tools, and programs to help communities dealing with this epidemic.

Everyone has a role to assist Ohio communities in this important fight.
— Senator Rob Portman

Drug Enforcement Administration

The Young Marines

The Elks have an amazing relationship with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The Elks are the largest volunteer organization in the US dedicated to battling the epidemic of illicit drig use and the DEA is a great partner for resources for lodges to leverage in their communities. One easy way for your lodge to partner with the DEA is to register your lodge as a collection site for the twice-annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building and leadership and promotes a lifestyle that is conducive to being productive members of society.

The Young Marines program encourages unit participation in local civic activities,  such as providing color guards for events, marching in parades and activities promoting and reinforcing good citizenship. They will be happy to help you  with your next event.

The Young Marines is the premier youth organization in its Drug Demand Reduction efforts.
