Alliance Lodge #467 Hosts Annual Youth Recognition Dinner
The Alliance Elks Lodge 467 held the annual Youth Recognition banquet on May 3th. Recognized were the Teenagers of the Year from seven local schools, scholarship winners, Eagle Scouts, Americanism essay winners, and Hoop Shoot winners.
Selected as Teenagers of the Year by their respective schools based upon scholarship, leadership, character, and service were Madison Gasparik and Braijon Clayton from Alliance High School; Robin Campbell and Spencer Frase from Marlington High School; Kirsten Plocher and Tyler DeShields from West Branch High School; Olivia Woods and Luke Clark from Sebring McKinley High School; Harlie Murphy and Ryan Mong from Louisville High School; Angela Farolino and Christian Harwood from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School; and Grace Maley and Daniel Talkington from Minerva High School.
Americanism essay winners who wrote about “why our veterans are heroes” were recognized by Marilyn Dailey. Those recognized were Alix Leonard, Chelsea Evanich, Caroline Barnett, Ashton Stutler, and Caroline Denny. Julia Schwartz was presented a plaque for placing 3rd place at the National level last year.
Eagle Scouts were recognized by District Executive Christopher Hyde. Those present were Brayden Costea , Cameron Morrison, Charles Glass, Evan Yost, Zachary Haskell, and Daniel Talkington.
Hoop Shoot winners presented with awards by Amy Gabelt were Audrey Eaton and Brennan Thomas (age 8-9); Shaylee Mucklero and Colton Norris(age 10-11); Morgan Loudon and Brendon Zurbrugg (age 12-13).
