Berea Elks #1815 Hosts "Community Honors" Banquet
Berea Elks Lodge #1815 hosted our annual “Community Honors” night at the lodge, recognizing and honoring local community members, students, and fellow Elk members who have all accomplished great things over the last year. The lodge recognized and awarded our Officer of the Year, Elk of the Year, and Citizen of the Year along with honoring students who competed in our Hoop Shoot and Americanism Essay contests. Finalists for the Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarships were also recognized during this great public event. Many thanks to all who did so much over the last year for our community and for our lodge!

Berea Elks #1815 Supports Our Troops in Kuwait
Over the last several months, members of Berea Elks Lodge #1815 along with other local Berea residents have been collecting personal hygiene products, lotions, laundry supplies, and other supplies for the service men and women in Kuwait.
Over the last several months, members of Berea Elks Lodge #1815 along with other local Berea residents have been collecting personal hygiene products, lotions, laundry supplies, and other supplies for the service men and women in Kuwait. The lodge has been sending regular shipments of these donations over the last several month helping more than 100 troops serving in Kuwait. The troops sent the lodge a great group photo and many thank yous for the efforts! Thanks to all who have donated and we will continue to keep up the effort.

Berea Elks #1815 Help Fight Hunger in Northeast Ohio
Members of Berea Elks Lodge #1815 volunteered at the Cleveland Food Bank sorting and packaging food supplies for the school backpack program and for general agency distribution. In all, thousands of pounds of food were sorted and packed which will help thousands of people across NE Ohio with nutrition assistance.

Columbus-Grove City Elks #37 Honors Local Citizen With Prestigious Award
Columbus-Grove City Elks #37 proudly presented The Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award to Cathy Shyu from China Bell restaurant. Cathy and her husband, Gary who recently passed due to complications from COVID-19, have been very busy in the community by supporting many, always working to help others. Grove City is forever grateful for both of their significant community contributions.

Soccer Shoot Champions From Salem Elks #305 Compete in Mid-Atlantic Regionals
Salem Elks Lodge #305 had two local students represent the state of Ohio at the Mid Atlantic Regional Soccer Shoot on March 12th in York, PA. Ohio shooters competed against 5 other states: Kentucky, West Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland-Delaware-DC. A total of 10 shooters in U-8 through U-16 both boys and girls competed.

Ohio as a whole finished 4th with both Nora Shean U-12 and Annika Murray U-16 placing 4th in their divisions.

Columbus-Grove City Elks #37 Feeds Local Fire Station
Current and future lodge officers of Columbus-Grove City Elks Lodge #37 prepared a meal of Shepherds Pie, Roll, Salad, and Dessert for fellow lodge members. At the end of the evening, an entire pan of the Shepherds Pie with Rolls was delivered to Jackson Township Fire Station, which was well appreciated.

Columbus - Grove City Elks #37 Delivers Thousands In Grants To Local Causes
Columbus - Grove City Elks Lodge #37 delivered several Elks National Foundation (ENF) grants to local organizations.
Columbus - Grove City Elks Lodge #37 delivered several Elks National Foundation (ENF) grants to local organizations. This included a $2,000 Spotlight Grant to the Volunteers Of America to purchase items needed by our veterans who live in a local Harmon House residence.

They all reported they had a great time and it was fun. We competed against 5 other states which were Kentucky, West Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland,Delaware,DC. Ohio came in at 4th place overall. The banquet and award program was great and we can't wait to go again next year.
I thank all of the district Chairman for all they do to help continue to make this a successful program each year. I am giving a special THANKS to Doug Kohli District Chairman of the South Central District for his over 20 years of service as Chairman, he is stepping down as Chairman. He has done a fantastic job and it has been a pleasure working with him.He has always had the best interest of the kids front and center. He exemplifies all of the best qualities of the Elks Best People On Earth. The new Chairman of the South Central Will be Howard Honaker who I 'm suer will do a great job. Welcome aboard.
Finally I ask all lodges to hold a soccer shoot so more kids have the opportunity to go to the Mid-Atlantic Regional representing Ohio and having fun.
If you are going to the April Convention please come to the Soccer Seminar so you can see how to put a shoot on. The District Chairman are available to help.

Willoughby Elks Lodge #18 in partnership with Willoughby Eagles #2300 we were able to donate $5000 to the Willoughby Police Department for the purchase of a new K-9 for their department.

This donation coupled with the Eagles donation of $5000 puts a significant dent in the enormous expense of this important acquisition. A large thank to Jeff Mitchell who is a member of both organizations for helping make these donations possible.

Dayton Elks #58 Help Local Fire Department
Dayton Elks Lodge #58 awarded the Bethel Township Fire Department of Miami Township the Ohio Elks Community Service Grant of $750. The grant from the Ohio Elks Association was used to purchase two Stihl chainsaws for two fire truckers. Bethel Township is in a rural area, where the use of saws are in demand.

Toledo-Sylvania Elks #53 Makes Donation to Ohio Veterans Home
Toledo Sylvania Elks Lodge #53 held 50-50 raffles, and a Patriot Day tribute to our Veterans. We were able to honor local Veterans with dinner and tote bags. Our members more than exceeded our expectations with donations.
Checks totaling for $1757.72 were presented to Mary Beaston, Ohio State Veterans Services for the Sandusky Veterans Home at the NW District meeting held at Kenton Lodge #157.
This donation will be used to purchase iPods and Apple gift cards to download music to inhance the Music Therapy program for the Veterans.

Berea Elks #1815 Raise $2,500 For Law Enforcement Survivors With Dart Tournament
Berea Elks Lodge #1815 held a charity darts tournament to benefit the U.S. Marshal’s Survivor’s Benefit Fund (USMSBF) and the family of Shane Bartek, a Cleveland Police officer who was recently murdered in a car jacking while he was off-duty in Cleveland.
Berea Elks Lodge #1815 held a charity darts tournament to benefit the U.S. Marshal’s Survivor’s Benefit Fund (USMSBF) and the family of Shane Bartek, a Cleveland Police officer who was recently murdered in a car jacking while he was off-duty in Cleveland.
The event rasied more than $2,000 for USMSBF and more than $500 for the Bartek family as 22 dart teams competed throughout the day for the top prize of tournament champion!
Dart teams from local area Elks lodges and various law enforcement offices all competed in a fun and lively event where old friendships strengthened and new friendships were made.
Many thanks to lodge Trustee Art Bowker for putting together such a great event and congratualtions to all the winners!
South Central Elks Support Veterans During The Holidays
With the help of South Central Elks and other local organizations, Elks National Volunteer Service Commission and V.A.V.S. we were able to provide clothing and food to Veterans living in area care homes on December 17,2021. We delivered clothing to 8 CRC homes consisting of hats, scarves, gloves, socks, various hygiene products and McDonald Gift Cards,
With the help of South Central Elks and other local organizations, Elks National Volunteer Service Commission and V.A.V.S. we were able to provide clothing and food to Veterans living in area care homes on December 17,2021. On December 24, 2021 food was delivered to 75 Veterans in the surrounding counties. A Christmas ham, potatoes, green beans and dinner rolls to each care home. Also a huge Christmas food basket containing bacon, hamburger, lunch meats, sausage, sauerkraut, bread, milk, eggs, sugar, flour and canned items.
