The names...some a familiar family, dates... astonishing, as old as 1812 and the bronze markers... familiar wars, but one I had to ask "GAR" refers to: the Grand Army of the Republic during the Civil War. Those members assisting were Ed Connors, Kim Chapman, Randy Malmsberry, Pam and Wayne Gorby, not pictured were Rich Lobdell and Terry Shasteen. We thank our Lodge for donating $1,000 through the Salem Community Foundation towards this wonderful cause.

2020 State Bowling Tournament - Update!
Mt. Vernon Elks Lodge #140
2021 Tournament Dates:
February 20,21
February 27,28
(March 6, 7 No Bowling)
March 13, 14
March 20, 21
March 27, 28 ( Return Weekend *)
This is so you may make reservations.
* Return Weekend is for teams or bowlers that had to withdraw from their scheduled time. Or bowlers wishing to return
Now, some updates.
First off, of all the event champions I have received information on 1 jacket size. I have called, texted, emailed and USPS mailed requests for this information to the lodge representative. If I do not get the sizes from your lodge bowling representative I will take it that you did not want the jackets.
Next, rules change for this year. It seems many leagues did not file USBC averages for last year. I will use what is listed last 2020, 2019, 2018. If you had an unreported average from 2020 you may submit a copy from the league's final week at the time of sending your entry.
I will not be holding bowlers to their (tournament) average due to so few getting to bowl before shut down.
This year we will NOT be going with the 10 pin rule... (only this year).
The Sr Division is now 60. And to have an established average you will only need 15 games in Any USBC League.
A reminder, if you have a USBC average, you are to use it. Bowlers have been reporting "non-sanctioned league averages" yet having established averages. You are to use your highest reported average from the prior season. Also using a "nickname" to avoid reporting an average is considered conduct for disqualification
Subs scores will not be a part of their all-events scores. But will still be eligible for score awards.
Now for sign up changes. In 3 weeks last year there were over 150 lineup changes made in the last hour before bowling. Changes or vacancies must be in my hands the day before. If you don't know who will be bowling report the spot as vacant , and can be filled before bowling.
Also, last year (before Covid) we had standing reservations for 95 teams. But 32 of these booked reservations never sent paperwork or payment thus blocking out teams that may have wanted those spots. As well half of the lodges did not submit paperwork or payment till the day they showed up. Due to the reduced weeks we have available all spots reserved must be paid for by January 1st. After that it will be first come first filled.
Also a reminder you are to send a single payment for entries.
The 2021 entry form will be posted and sent to the lodges this week. No change in prices..
